Mercedes-AMG will enter a new dimension with the advent of the new generation of compact models from Stuttgart. The first-ever A-Class AMG version will be released by the end of 2012, and if it wasn't enough, the already unveiled B-Class is also included in the plans of the Affalterbach tuning firm.
The sports tourer will receive the same underpinnings like its hatchback sibling, meaning a new 4x4 powertrain and a new 2.0-litre engine developed in cooperation with Hyprex. Combining several clever supercharging technologies, the petrol unit making the world debut on the forthcoming A 25/B 25 AMG variants will boast impressive performance figures, such as 350 hp maximum output and best-in-class values for peak torque and top speed. Both models, alongside the standard A-Class and B-Class, are expected to hit Stateside showrooms in 2013.
