Mercedes-Benz is not only the inventor of the automobile, it has also been making the most admired cars for over 125 years. This is the upshot of an internet survey in which vehicles from Mercedes-Benz took first place in six different eras.
he large-scale internet survey conducted by leading international news portal Automotive News to identify "Legends on wheels" attracted over 100,000 participants. The internet users chose automobiles from Mercedes-Benz as true legends in six out of fourteen time categories.
For the epoch before 1900 they voted Benz's patented motor car into first place and awarded second place to the Daimler Riemenwagen. The list of automotive legends includes plenty of other vehicles from Mercedes-Benz – such as the Mercedes-Benz model 500 K, the style icon of the 1930s. Apart from winning its epoch with ease, the 300 SL was also voted "The Ultimate Legend", making it the supreme legend of all times.
